Eurotel – Makati Review

Ok, so me and my girlfriend were heading home from Glorietta when we saw a printed Ad on the street about a new Eurotel branch going up along Arnais street at Makati. Of course big fans that we are about this place we tried looking for it and finally found it being beside Waltermart. You can hardly see it’s there from the flyover that’s blocking it.

This place is just a few weeks old (1-2 weeks) so I would think that the place would still smell like brand new. So we went in the lobby and it was huge. Well, it’s the biggest Eurotel lobby we’ve seen so far from all the branches that we went to. It was a Sunday so there were just us and a lady who is just about to check in with her family but it was just her. I guess the rest of her family are at Waltermart or something. Anyways, we were asked to be seated first. I took a photo of the lobby while we were waiting.

I was then called upon and since the place is still new they had a promo going. Accommodations are 50% off. Good in a way but kind of doubtful of it. I heard sometimes they would do dry runs on new establishments. I got the Standard room for 395 pesos. The cute front desk girl gave me the entry card and a remote control.

We went in the room and noticed the first thing being different from all the other branches was that it only had one door. Usually you get two doors for that extra privacy. Most of the time, having one door is just not enough to suppress that screaming satisfaction. And another downer about it is, if you were to open the door, the person standing outside can directly see the bed thus if you’re not careful, a lucky stranger can get a free peek at your girlfriend. A plus I might add is that you get an LCD TV now. For a love hotel that is just a few weeks old, you still smell that fresh paint and concrete and everything inside still looks brand new.

This branch still lacked the two adult channels that only existed at Eurotel Las Piñas and Araneta. I really do think that they’re changing their image and branding themselves primarily as a hotel and a love hotel second. Ok, so we started doing our thing and being mindful of the sounds since we’re just 4 feet from the door. It was such a weird experience all throughout because of that.

We got hungry so I thought we’d order something and check out how the food was. The menu was still the same as with the other branches. We got ourselves a Half Fried chicken and Salisbury Steak. The menu said that it would take 20 minutes but we waited for 30 minutes until it arrived only to find out that the Half Fried Chicken that said that it was going to be fried to perfection still had blood inside. The blood was literally dripping on the plate. We tried the Salisbury steak and it wasn’t even a steak. It was pieces of meat scrunched up to look like a steak and there was bacon rolled around it to keep it intact. We tried the steak and it was salty as hell.

Very unsatisfied about this I called up front desk and asked that they fix this. The bell boy came and picked it up. We waited 30-45 minutes for it and only got the chicken back chopped up in three pieces but we got a phone call from front desk saying that they were going to replace that with a new chicken but looking at the parts where I cut the chicken earlier, it was still there so this is not new at all. Hungry, we then chowed down on the chicken and 30 minutes passed and the Salisbury steak is nowhere to be seen. Upset and completely dissatisfied I called up front desk and asked that they cancel the order. I found out that we had a communication problem and she didn’t quite understand what was going on and didn’t know that we were still waiting for the steak. We pretty much wasted almost an hour and a half of our time getting our food order straightened out considering we only paid for a 4-hour stay. We freshened up and went out and didn’t hesitate to get my 180 pesos back from that Salisbury steak that was nowhere to be seen.

Conclusion

Overall, the service was a complete disappointment. Now I know for a fact why they offered 50% on rooms because that’s the only reliable service that the love hotel offers and they want people to know that. Dry Run I guess. People looking for a great meal from the place should just get take-out from food chains at Waltermart first before going there. I can’t complain about the rooms being almost-brand new but for other services? Don’t even bother. The majority of the staff don’t even know what they’re doing and they have this look as if they don’t even know why they’re there.

can i ask, im new to this things and my gf looks like she is a minor(well she isn’t) are they really strict about that?

    • pinoysexy says:

Eurotel branches aren’t that strict but I heard Victoria Court love hotels sometimes require you to show some form of identification to verify your age.

I also had a bad experience yesterday with Eurotel Makati. My gf and I would like to checkout this new hotel since its the newest among the Eurotel branches. We liked Eurotel Cubao so we expect the same with Eurotel Makati at the very least. When we got in the lobby looks great and there’s a foreigner who’s making a reservation at the front desk so I wait for my turn. Then there’s three other receptionist in the front desk who I supposed were trainees since they don’t wear the same yellow uniform as the one who is handling the reservation of the guest. They don’t bother to ask me if I would like to check-in. They just do their business. Then after a while I ask the receptionist what are the available rooms. I was just asked to wait for my turn and will just be called. So I went to the couch and observe from that distance. Around 5 minutes there’s another foreigner who came in and the receptionist eagerly assisted him. Then came another. So I went to the front desk and just to let them know that I’m waiting for my turn. But then when another foreigner came in to check-in, he was immediately asked by the receptionist as if I didn’t exists. This time I flared up and asked if what’s going on and nobody’s seems to assist me. I was immediately asked by one of the trainee, that receptionist girl named Carol/Candy if I’m not mistaken, doesn’t seem to bother. Upon inquiring on room availability, I was only offered suite room, sensing that I was deliberately offered that room instead of the standard ones, I walked out. Not that I cannot afford it, but I don’t want to spend that amount of money for them.

If they would only want to cater to foreigners/expats, they should immediately inform local guests so that not to waste our time. Such a bad experience that makes the rest of my day miserable.

I couldn’t agree with you more Viceroy. Just recently when me and my partner checked in to that branch again, the same scenario happened. We went in and I went straight to the front desk. The lady said to just take a seat and wait and so I did. I then noticed about three foreigners coming in and being assisted by them. 3-5 minutes passed and I finally went over there and asked if it was my turn. They told me that the only rooms that were available was the Suite. I didn’t believe them since it was a weekday. I know too well that the branch isn’t full on that day. I asked them again to confirm with a discount card on my right hand. The lady defended her statement and went ahead and computed for the discounted price when the other receptionist barged in and said that there is one standard room available. I remained calm and told her that i’ll take it. She told me the price and I realized that it was the same price as the discounted suite room. Both of them panicked and tried to compute it again and finally got the right discount. Me and my girlfriend then checked in for 12 hours and from that ordeal, I don’t think i’ll be going back to that branch again.

The same situation happened to a close friend of mine who checked in to the Southmall branch. They told him Suite rooms are the only rooms vacant. A few seconds later came a family of four, and they were offered a standard room right away. My friend who was sitting on a waiting couch heard it. Pissed off, he went back and told the receptionists that he heard what they said to the group. The front desk staff apologized and gave them the same standard room and a discount card for the inconvenience.

I’m beginning to hate Eurotel now. I think they are trying to change their image as tightly a hotel than a mix between a love hotel and a regular hotel. Don’t we already have enough hotels here that are far superior than them? There are other love hotels out there that are better and more customer friendly than this. Thank you Eurotel, you have motivated me in finding those love hotels that need better attention and exposure than you. Good riddance!

does this happen on the makati branch only? cause i dont have a problem with the one placed on cubao.

      • pinoysexy says:

I haven’t tried checking in to that branch recently. The only ones that have this type of mind-set are the Las Piñas and Makati.

Yes, Eurotel Makati really sucks and smells bad! 4 days ago, we fetched our tita and her husband, a German national, at the NAIA 3. When we came up to Eurotel’s Room 411 and the elevator door opened, our nostrils were immediately filled with foul air. Just in front of the door beside our reserved room, as well as on the floor beside the staircase, were scattered used plates, fish bones, dirty glasses.. etc. Yuck! You can hardly move inside the room, the CR does not function well, the bed sheets and towels are not clean, no clean glasses for brushing your teeth, and the staff definitely knows nothing about hotel accomodation.

To the owner of Eurotel Makati, please.. shut down your business! Nakakahiya kayo!

P.S. The next morning when our relatives

    • Eureka says:

..(sorry, I pressed the Enter key prematurely.. lol) Anyway, the next morning when our relatives checked out, they witnessed the same messy scene. We transferred to the nearby EL Cielito Inn where the staff were more friendly and professional and the rooms assigned were spacious, clean and complete. The the alley alone was covered with carpet.
