Victoria Court – Las Piñas Review

Me and my girlfriend celebrated our 1st year anniversary at Victoria Court Las Piñas Last December 2008. We always stay at Eurotel if we want to spend some personal time with each other and so we figured we would try some place new, more romantic and unique and Victoria Court was the place for it. We took a taxi and boy did we pay a hefty price for that ride. A taxi ride from SM Southmall to Victoria Court will get you at around P150 – P200. At least you get some privacy getting in to the place rather than ride a tricycle. I don’t think that would be a good idea to do on your anniversary.

We finally got to the place but we didn’t know which room to pick since there was around 5-8 themed rooms with varying sizes and prices. We wanted our time there to be very special so we went ahead and chose to get the most expensive room there. We checked out two rooms before choosing the right one for us which were tagged as Suites. The first one was called Austin Powers. We got an approval from the attendant to check out the room. The carpeting was dirty and it looked as if it hasn’t been vacuumed from the first day that it was made. I couldn’t even dare taking my shoes off and stepping on the carpet from it being so dirty. Some of the lighting fixtures were already broken and the strobe lights don’t even work anymore. The room looked very dim and depressing considering that it was supposed to look like one of Austin Power’s crib based from the name and the theme. It would have been a fun room mainly because of the numerous poles that surrounds the bed and a huge jacuzzi but it was dirty and wasn’t well maintained.

It was the exact opposite upon entry to the second suite which they call Destiny. In my opinion, it is the best suite room on that branch. I also checked the Victoria Court website (www.victoriacourt.biz) and none of the other rooms are even worth comparing to the Destiny room. From the name of the room, it really was Destiny that made us choose it. The room is huge and clean. All of the lights are working and it made the room glow. The room is separated into two sections. The first section is where the bed is. It also has a table and 2 chairs where you can take your lunch/dinner right beside it. You also get a 40-inch LCD TV, a DVD player and a Nintendo Wii that you can play until you get bored which really won’t happen during your stay. To the right of the bed is a section solely for the love chair where you can be creative with your partner in trying out new positions and even coming up with your own which is a huge plus for me.

The Jacuzzi

The Jacuzzi

Down the short hallway you’ll find another room with a vanity section there for your girlfriend to use. Sitting on the vanity area table is a basket full of sexual goodies ranging from lubricants, condoms and even a dildo. You also get another TV but it’s just a plain sized 20-inch TV which is perfectly fine since you’re already getting an LCD TV on the other side of the room. You also get a small fridge with drinks inside but you will have to pay for it if you consume any. Right beside the vanity area is a full-size jacuzzi with a bottle of bath foam liquid for you to put in for a nice foamy bubble bath. Beside the jacuzzi is the bathroom which is huge. It’s comparable to a size of a bathroom that you will get from a deluxe bathroom of a hotel and the best thing about it, it’s clean.

Service from the staff there is speedy. We’ve checked in before on other rooms there and from my experience I can’t say anything negative about their promptness and courteousness to customers.

Conclusion

This has got to be the best Love Hotel that we have stayed on. I guess for the hefty price (P2000) that you are paying for that you would definitely get more than the usual amenities and it’s worth it. With a clean room and a courteous staff, I definitely recommend this as the best Love Hotel for anyone looking for a room thats true to its theme and even more. Don’t forget to try out the love chair and let your creative side come out.

We’ve loved this place so much that we have checked in to two other themed rooms on this branch. Check back in a few days for reviews on that.

Eurotel Cubao Review

I’ve been hearing good things about Gateway Mall from my friends and how it’s comparable to Glorietta. And on a sunny Sunday me and my girlfriend went to Araneta Coliseum to check out the mall. Upon arriving, little did we realize that there was a Eurotel branch there. I guess I would name that Eurotel Araneta just to label that in my blog. After checking out Gateway Mall and how clean and white it was but not much different from Glorietta (just smaller) we hurriedly went to Eurotel. The location of the place is a bit ironic because right across the street from it is a huge church building with a huge cross that almost occupies the whole building. I’m not sure which of the two was built first but looking at the big cross gives you a sort of uneasy feeling going in to the hotel. Awkward anyone?

Eurotel At The Right

Eurotel At The Right

The lobby is by far the smallest of all the branches that I have been to. This didn’t quite shock me, seeing that the building from the outside is small. It also feels awkward going in the place since the outside is filled with people congesting the walkway staring at you as you open the door to the lobby. Add the male attendants who keeps staring at you while you wait for your turn to get a room adds to the awkwardness formula.

We finally got to the room and compared to the other branches, this would be the least maintained. I will give the place a plus though for having 2 adult channels and the standard 2-door system. Plus there weren’t any rooms left so we had no choice but to get the Suite Room. This is our first time checking in to a Suite Room of all branches and for the first time, there is actually a window! The room is huge and you get your own bathtub and 2 beds. But with that suite, cleanliness is still not up to par with other branches.

Conclusion

I didn’t really enjoy staying at this branch. Personally they made a bad decision of placing this beside a church and add the eyeing attendants and flocks of people that you would see once you set foot outside the hotel makes you uneasy and violated. It’s also really hard getting a vacant room. You either have to wait until one is available or just get the Suite which is always ready for occupancy.

Sogo Drive-In (Pasay) Review

The love hotel is located along Edsa Road in Pasay. You won’t miss it since its the only building there that is colored yellow and red with a huge poster ad promoting the place. Based from the poster, it’s the only branch that offers the drive-in convenience. We have a car so it was perfect for us. We drove into the entrance and we weren’t greeted by any attendants right away. Instead we had to circle around until we got a hold of one almost to the exit area. One of the staff member that helped us get a room looked very tired and didn’t look like he liked his job. He looked as if he didn’t have any choice with the job that he has.

The place offered themed rooms so that got me excited. Sogo did a nice touch in pasting posters the size of the garage door of what the room inside would look like. I like this better than going into each room one by one which makes it time consuming. We finally got a room that had a James Bond theme. We figured we’d try something adventurous for a change and the thought of role playing and pretending to be James Bond got me excited.

Ecstatic, we went in the room. The work that was done in getting the room to look and feel like you are in one of James Bonds’ crib was astonishing except for one problem. The room wasn’t well maintained. The carpeting had stains that are so obvious to the human eye that you won’t even dare set foot on it let alone take your shoes off. Some lighting fixtures were either damaged or were missing light bulbs. And because of the missing light bulbs, the room looked gloomy. The blanket had a huge hole in the middle which completely voids its main purpose and the towels looked as if they can be ripped in two easily.

Conclusion

Those looking for a good themed love hotel should look some place else. You’ll get a better chance of getting a clean room from Victoria Court. More expensive than Sogo but surely you’ll get a room thats clean and well maintained.

Eurotel – Pedro Gil Review

The love hotel is located beside Robinsons Place Mall at Pedro Gil, Malate. Upon entry to it, the lobby looks very classy. It’s comparable to the lobby of Eurotel Arnais but it’s smaller, about half of that but still the second biggest lobby of all the branches we’ve been to. As usual you are asked to be sited when they are still accompanying guests at the front desk. The staff there are very professional in treating their guests and would promptly entertain you right away upon entry to the lobby area. Again, they are trying to change their reputation as not just a love hotel but a place where a family can check in and stay as well. I also noticed that alot of guests are foreigners.

We went in the room and it’s what you would expect from it and no differences at all except that the TV’s on this branch are just the regular sized TV’s and not LCD TV’s. We didn’t get the chance to try out the food there. The rooms are always clean and well maintained. This branch by far is our most favorite branch. We visit this place every week.

Conclusion

Overall this is by far our favorite Eurotel branch. Having this branch situated right across the street from Robinsons Place Mall is a great convenience. You can go all day malling with your partner and watch a movie and then by the end of the day just cross the street and have a little quality time with your partner.

Eurotel – Makati Review

Ok, so me and my girlfriend were heading home from Glorietta when we saw a printed Ad on the street about a new Eurotel branch going up along Arnais street at Makati. Of course big fans that we are about this place we tried looking for it and finally found it being beside Waltermart. You can hardly see it’s there from the flyover that’s blocking it.

This place is just a few weeks old (1-2 weeks) so I would think that the place would still smell like brand new. So we went in the lobby and it was huge. Well, it’s the biggest Eurotel lobby we’ve seen so far from all the branches that we went to. It was a Sunday so there were just us and a lady who is just about to check in with her family but it was just her. I guess the rest of her family are at Waltermart or something. Anyways, we were asked to be seated first. I took a photo of the lobby while we were waiting.

I was then called upon and since the place is still new they had a promo going. Accommodations are 50% off. Good in a way but kind of doubtful of it. I heard sometimes they would do dry runs on new establishments. I got the Standard room for 395 pesos. The cute front desk girl gave me the entry card and a remote control.

We went in the room and noticed the first thing being different from all the other branches was that it only had one door. Usually you get two doors for that extra privacy. Most of the time, having one door is just not enough to suppress that screaming satisfaction. And another downer about it is, if you were to open the door, the person standing outside can directly see the bed thus if you’re not careful, a lucky stranger can get a free peek at your girlfriend. A plus I might add is that you get an LCD TV now. For a love hotel that is just a few weeks old, you still smell that fresh paint and concrete and everything inside still looks brand new.

This branch still lacked the two adult channels that only existed at Eurotel Las Piñas and Araneta. I really do think that they’re changing their image and branding themselves primarily as a hotel and a love hotel second. Ok, so we started doing our thing and being mindful of the sounds since we’re just 4 feet from the door. It was such a weird experience all throughout because of that.

We got hungry so I thought we’d order something and check out how the food was. The menu was still the same as with the other branches. We got ourselves a Half Fried chicken and Salisbury Steak. The menu said that it would take 20 minutes but we waited for 30 minutes until it arrived only to find out that the Half Fried Chicken that said that it was going to be fried to perfection still had blood inside. The blood was literally dripping on the plate. We tried the Salisbury steak and it wasn’t even a steak. It was pieces of meat scrunched up to look like a steak and there was bacon rolled around it to keep it intact. We tried the steak and it was salty as hell.

Bleeding Half Chicken & 100% Salted Salisbury Steak

Very unsatisfied about this I called up front desk and asked that they fix this. The bell boy came and picked it up. We waited 30-45 minutes for it and only got the chicken back chopped up in three pieces but we got a phone call from front desk saying that they were going to replace that with a new chicken but looking at the parts where I cut the chicken earlier, it was still there so this is not new at all. Hungry, we then chowed down on the chicken and 30 minutes passed and the Salisbury steak is nowhere to be seen. Upset and completely dissatisfied I called up front desk and asked that they cancel the order. I found out that we had a communication problem and she didn’t quite understand what was going on and didn’t know that we were still waiting for the steak. We pretty much wasted almost an hour and a half of our time getting our food order straightened out considering we only paid for a 4-hour stay. We freshened up and went out and didn’t hesitate to get my 180 pesos back from that Salisbury steak that was nowhere to be seen.

Conclusion

Overall, the service was a complete disappointment. Now I know for a fact why they offered 50% on rooms because that’s the only reliable service that the love hotel offers and they want people to know that. Dry Run I guess. People looking for a great meal from the place should just get take-out from food chains at Waltermart first before going there. I can’t complain about the rooms being almost-brand new but for other services? Don’t even bother. The majority of the staff don’t even know what they’re doing and they have this look as if they don’t even know why they’re there.
